Our ultrasound training courses are run in small groups in the intimate setting of our San Francisco training center. We combine didactic lecture material and Q&A with practical hands-on scanning of patients to ensure that you understand the fundamentals of both scanning and interpretation for improving patient care.
Women’s Health Ultrasound
Ultrasound is more important than ever in caring for your female patients. Develop and refine your ultrasound skills across the spectrum of applications in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The focus of this course is to educate students on the basics of the first trimester scan and the 3rd trimester evaluation. Day 1 lecture includes the non gravid pelvic exam along with common pathology and the first trimester dating exam. Day 2 lecture includes the 2nd trimester biometry and growth assessment along with biophysical profile, AFI, placenta and cervical length. Each day consists of a hands-on lab with patients at different stages of pregnancy. Transvaginal scanning is included.
This Course is intended for Physicians, Nurse Practioners, Nurse Midwives, Physician Assistants, and Sonographers. LEARN MORE
This training course is designed for the practitioner interested in the ultrasound evaluation of the non-gravid pelvis. Lecture includes basic physics, image orientation, and knobology. Transabdominal and transvaginal scanning technique and protocol are reviewed along with pathology and case studies. Hands-on instruction in our scan lab on live patients will solidify the concepts acquired during lecture. Transvaginal scanning is included. LEARN MORE
This course provides and in depth evaluation of the 2nd trimester gestation. We will lecture on the complete anatomy scan including biometry, soft markers, and heart views. We will review twin pregnancy and chronicity. Doppler evaluation and interpretation of the umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery will be included. Lecture will conclude with a review of the biophysical profile exam, cervical length, and placenta. Each day consists of a morning lecture with an afternoon hands-on scan lab. Patients between 18-32 weeks gestation will be available to scan for a practical application of the lecture material. LEARN MORE
Ultrasound is an increasingly important component of detection and diagnosis in the area of cardiovascular and arterial health. Expand your practice and areas of expertise with our comprehensive hands-on training sessions and courses.
This course is designed to provide a detailed evaluation of dialysis access grafts, fistulas, and the mapping involved prior to surgery. This course begins with a discussion of upper extremity venous and arterial anatomy along with proper scanning protocol for the vein mapping exam. Graft and fistula placement options are discussed along with complications including non-maturing fistulas, thrombus, and stenosis. A detailed explanation of indications, hemodynamics, flow volume, and duplex imaging gives each student a thorough understanding of how fistulas work and why they might fail. LEARN MORE
This course is designed to provide an introduction into the ultrasound evaluation of the cerebrovascular system, lower extremity arterial system and lower extremity venous system. An explaination of ultrasound physics including flow dynamics, doppler shift, flow direction, and angle correction is included. Each day will begin with anatomy and physiology, scanning protocol, pathology and case study review. We will end each day with a hands on scan lab to solidify the concepts learned in lecture.
